VA Higher-Level Review
If you disagree with a VA decision and believe an error was made, a Higher-Level Review allows you to request that a more experienced VA reviewer take another look at your case.
When May a Higher-Level Review Be Appropriate?
A Higher-Level Review may be an option if the VA made an error in its previous decision and you do not have new evidence to submit.
Examples may include:
- Evidence already in your file was overlooked or incorrectly evaluated
- The VA incorrectly applied a law or regulation
- Information in your records was misunderstood

Important: A Higher-Level Review generally must be requested within one year of the date on your VA decision letter.
